INTENSIVE BASIC ENGLISH
Basic Oral Communication Skills and Pronunciation
This course develops fundamental speaking and listening skills with basic vocabulary and conversational practice in everyday situations. There is intensive practice on the basic tenses and an introduction to the English sound system to develop survival reading.

INTENSIVE LOW INTERMEDIATE ENGLISH
Oral Communication, Introduction to Reading
Further developing of conversation, reading skills and expansion of vocabulary. Conversation practice in a task - oriented context. It includes practice on the complex tenses, idiomatic expressions and readings on cultural aspects of American Life.

INTENSIVE HIGH INTERMEDIATE ENGLISH
Conversation, Reading, Introduction to Writing in the lab if determined in the needs analysis. This course develops new vocabulary and conversations skills through discussions which use different formats including interviews and short presentations. Students are introduced to paragraph writing in the lab.

INTENSIVE ADVANCED ENGLISH
Advanced Conversation
The objective of this course is the acquisition of fluency in conversation with directed topics such as current events, controversial issues and daily routine communication. In further develops advanced vocabulary and listening comprehension in daily routine communication. There are patterns drills for error correction and vocabulary enhancement.

TOEFL AND TOEIC EXAMS
Preparation for High Intermediate and Advanced students in conjunction with the Intensive English Program or as an elective.
This is a nine hour a week program where students are prepared for exam. Practice tests are taken on a weekly basis. Students can also take computer based tests as needed in addition to classroom instruction for added practice.

ENGLISH ONLY RULE
Because we sincerely want our students to learn as much as possible while they are with us, we respectfully request that while they are in the institute, only English be spoken. Courses are taught in a 100% English environment. The English- only rule is strictly enforced in public areas outside the classroom as well.

METHODOLOGY
Language Plus uses a modified audio bilingual conversational approach to learning, which enables students to speak up to 90% of the class session. Because of the small class size, students are given individualized attention and have many opportunities to use English actively.

PLACEMENT
Upon arrival, oral and written placement tests are given to student. During the initial interview, students and counselors set realistic and practical goals in order to make their time at Language Plus as productive as possible. They are then placed in classes of no more than ten students at the same language proficiency.

CERTIFICATE
A certificate of completion is issued to each student who successfully completes the course.

Excursion trhough the Southwest
At additional cost, students can take advantage of weekend trips to Los Angeles, Dallas, Las Vegas, and Mexico. For those who like to shop, the designer outlet malls near Santa Fe and Albuquerque offer beautiful clothing at affordable prices. This excursion can be combined with dining and an overnight stay at one of Santa Fe's finest hotels.

NATURE LOVERS can take advantage of the sites near El Paso. Visit HUECO TANKS HISTORICAL PARK to admire and climb ancient molten rock formations that have an estimated 2, 000 Native American pictographs among the caves and cliffs. Students can also visit CARLSBAD CAVERNS, sometimes called "The 8th Wonder of the World". Here the forces of nature (water and erosion) created underground chambers (canyons). Students who have been there say it feels like being on another planet. People come from all over the world to admire these natural wonders.
